Getting Around Downtown

The City of St. Louis has taken steps to make biking in Downtown STL safer!

St. Louis’ first parking-protected bike lane is now open along the south side of Chestnut from 20th Street to 4th Street. Parking-protected bike lanes provide additional protection and comfort to people riding bicycles on city streets..

On Chestnut, parked cars are being used as the buffer between moving vehicles and cyclists, so Chestnut is now down to one lane for motor vehicles. The parking meters remain posted on the sidewalks next to the bike lane, so don’t forget to feed the meter after you park!
