A #QuickTip for Getting Around DowntownSTL, drivers heading into Downtown this weekend from Illinois, should consider an alternate route to the Poplar Street Bridge.
Tonight at 7:30 pm, MoDOT will close two lanes on the westbound PSB. These lane closures are in addition to the one lane already closed around the clock. The ramp from Sauget to the PSB will also close at 7:30 pm tonight.
The ramp from the westbound PSB to I-55 will remain open. Because of the work, drivers should consider the Martin Luther King Bridge, the Eads Bridge or the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge to get into Downtown.
The two westbound lanes and ramp from Sauget are expected to reopen by 1 pm Saturday.
This work will remove and replace the temporary overlay on the outside lane of the PSB. A permanent overlay will be placed next year as part of on-going work to replace the PSB ramps to westbound I-44 and southbound I-55.
