New All-Day Café: Bella’s on Washington

A longtime Washington Avenue staple is getting a fresh start. Bella’s (1021 Washington Ave.) will reopen in December and serve locally roasted coffee, pastries by chef Tai Davis, and cocktails made from local spirits.

Owner Corey James says the cafe will reflect what the neighborhood needs most: more vibrant, community-focused spaces that bring people together throughout the day. The redevelopment, a partnership with Oliver Properties, also received a Downtown Retail Incentive Grant from Greater St. Louis, Inc. and the St. Louis Development Corporation — part of a broader effort to boost street-level activity and reinvest in Washington Ave. (St. Louis Magazine)
