The Future of Downtown
At no time in recent memory has there been more momentum in Downtown St. Louis than right now. With an influx of new residents, parks and green spaces, jobs, entertainment venues, and other investments, Downtown has become a place that means many things to many people; a place to live, a place to work, a place to recreate and explore. Downtown is the heart of St. Louis — the place where St. Louis comes together.
Developed through a community planning process, Design Downtown STL is the official neighborhood plan for Downtown St. Louis.

What will the next decade and beyond bring for Downtown St. Louis?
Downtown is the home to entrepreneurs, business leaders, makers, and dreamers; an energetic, inclusive, and bustling community that reflects a mix of rich history with cutting-edge thinking and bold design.
To bring this vision to life, Design Downtown STL was developed as the guiding framework for Downtown’s next decade. This planning process engaged thousands of people from all backgrounds about the issues, opportunities, and potential of Downtown St. Louis. The resulting plan was formally adopted by the City of St. Louis in December 2020.
