Well here we go again for the 16th year in a row! Not So Quiet! concerts have been happening on the 3rd Thursday of the month for so long you can set your watch by them (if your watch happens to be a sundial). But hey, the past is gone and this year, like every year is going to be the greatest you have ever seen; don’t you dare miss a show! Call your friends, bring your neighbors; get a sitter for the kids – every show is going to be epic.
Who ya’ gonna call when you got that bad news and you want to kick them Blues? Marty D. Spikener’s On Call Band!
Marty D. Spikener has been keeping the beat to the real deal blues music scene longer than Sweetie Pie’s has been making mac-n-cheese. Along with Marty D. Spikener, a veteran group of players makes up the On Call Band who play on the regular at BB’s, the Blues Museum and other blues joints in the area.
But, Joe, I need that sweet stuff that makes my feet tap and my fingers snap. O’ I got you right here: https://martydspikenersoncallband.bandcamp.com/album/help-i-need-some-good-blues.
You better make the scene at the Central Library on February 16 because you need it, you want it and if you get on down to 1301 Olive Street just across the street from Soldiers Memorial, you are guaranteed to see the light. These here the real Blues that will heal your soul and make your life a thousand times better or your money back!
Every Not So Quiet! concert is free of charge and open to everyone tall or small, but if you ain’t old enough to vote, you can still get your groove thing on as long as you bring in someone to dance with who can drive ya’ home.
No tickets will be sold; all seating is first come – first served. Doors to the Auditorium open at 7 pm and the fabulous Marty D. Spikener’s On Call Band will feed your head full of the Blues until 9 pm. That’s 90 solid minutes of Blues, baby!
The Not So Quiet! concert series is supported by In Depth with Graham Bensinger and St. Louis Public Library Foundation.
