Join St. Louis Public Library and Dr. Rafia Zafar for a discussion of her book Recipes for Respect: African American Meals and Meaning as well as the Black foodways that influenced African American culture. Dr. Zafar is a professor of English, African and African American studies, and American culture studies at Washington University in St. Louis, where she also serves as faculty director of the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship program.
